REGIONAL’S FASTEST BROADBAND LAUNCHED Malaysia is the first in the region to be ‘wired’ with high-speed IPv6 technology

Cyberjaya, April 7 2016 - Aries Telecoms (M) Berhad (Aries Telecoms) today launched Aries Infinity, the region’s fastest IPv6 broadband technology that provides internet speed of up to 1,000 Mbps or 1Gbps.

Malaysia is now amongst the few countries in the world and the first in the region to be ‘wired’ with such technology .The launch of the IPv6 was officiated by Communications and Multimedia minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.

Aries Telecoms chairman Datuk Zuraidi Rahim said the launch of the new technology was made possible with the collaboration between the company and Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd through its widest coverage of fibre optic infrastructure in Cyberjaya that has been laid off.

“The fibre optics covers almost all buildings in Cyberjaya, thus making the 1Gbps Infinity Broadband readily available for business users and enable more smart city solution, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics and ICT services to be deployed in Cyberjaya,” Zuraidi said.

The transition from the current Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) is also due to the inability of the current system in supporting the growing population of the world, especially in providing sufficient IP addresses.

“Aries Infinity complements the impressive digital infrastructure in Malaysia and is a true end-to-end IPV6 connectivity where peer to peer applications can work very effectively and efficiently.

“It is currently the only business broadband that provide speed of up to 1,000 Mbps or 1Gbps with IPv6 enabled, and allow the users to access to more than 1,000,000 IP addresses of which the new applications such as Internet of Things and Big Data,” said Dato’ Zuraidi.

“We are proud to be part of the country’s growth and will continue to make headway in the global telecommunication arena,” said Dato’ Zuraidi.
